Ka Huewai a Kāne

Have you ever heard someone express the sentiment that they are simply a tool for God, or we are vessels for the spirit of God? That is the same thought shared in this traditional ʻōlelo noʻeau: "He huewai ola ke kanaka na Kāne."

The water of Kāne is the water of life, and we are vessels that hold that water. When the vessel ceases to be, the water still exists, but no longer within the vessel. You may recognize this thought in the pages of AFTER DAWN.
